PRIVACY POLICY

Overview

Effective October 13, 2026. Villa La Paz Conference & Event Center ("Villa La Paz," "we," "us") is operated by the César Chávez Foundation at 29700 Woodford-Tehachapi Road, Keene, California 93531. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through villalapazeventcenter.org (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Information You Provide

We collect the information you choose to send us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, message, and your community-list and privacy-consent selections. When you submit a Request for Proposal, we also collect your organization name, preferred event dates, event time and duration, estimated number of guests, event description, estimated budget range, and decision timeline. When you request dates through our booking form, which is provided by our event-management platform, Tripleseat, we collect your contact information and the event details you enter. When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you email or call us, we keep the information you share with us.

Information Collected Automatically

Some information is collected automatically when you visit the Site. Our website host, Webflow, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request in order to deliver and protect the Site. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site, including pages viewed, time spent, how you arrived, approximate location (such as city or region), device and browser type, and actions such as submitting a form; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We also advertise with Google Ads. When you reach the Site by clicking one of our ads, the link includes a click identifier and campaign details (such as the campaign name and search keyword), which Google Analytics and Google Ads use to show us whether the ad led to an inquiry. When you submit an inquiry, our forms include how you found the Site (for example, the ad campaign or the website that referred you). When you submit a form, the Google tag on the Site also sends Google a hashed (one-way encrypted) copy of the email address and phone number you entered, so Google can match your inquiry to an ad click and report it to us in aggregate (a feature Google calls enhanced conversions). The hashing happens in your browser, so Google does not receive the readable values from this feature. Some pages also load content from other providers: the map on our Home and Weddings pages comes from Mapbox, the current temperature comes from Open-Meteo, our booking form uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam, and some fonts and code libraries are delivered by content delivery networks. These providers receive your IP address and basic browser information when they deliver that content.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your questions and requests; prepare proposals, quotes, and contracts; plan, book, and host your event; send newsletters and updates if you have signed up; understand and improve the Site and our services; measure how well our advertising works; protect the Site and our guests against spam, fraud, and misuse; and meet our legal obligations.

How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to provide those services: Webflow (website hosting), Basin (form delivery), Tripleseat (event management), Google (analytics, advertising measurement, spam protection, and the spreadsheet that stores our newsletter list), Mapbox (maps), and Open-Meteo (weather). We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Villa La Paz, our guests, or others; or with your consent.

Cookies & Do Not Track

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. The Site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure visits, and when you arrive from one of our ads, Google also uses cookies to measure whether the ad led to an inquiry. Our map provider uses your browser's local storage in a similar way, and the Site keeps the campaign details from the link that brought you here in local storage for up to 30 days, so they can be included with your inquiry. We do not use remarketing, meaning we do not show you ads based on your visits to the Site. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), and manage how Google personalizes ads for you at myadcenter.google.com. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them; you can still use the tools above to limit analytics.

Your Choices

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any newsletter we send or by emailing hospitality@chavezfoundation.org. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have given us by contacting us using the details below. California residents may request information about any disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.

Data Retention & Security

We keep inquiry, proposal, and booking information for as long as needed to respond to you, provide our services, and maintain business and tax records, and we keep newsletter sign-ups until you unsubscribe. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, and the Site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults planning events and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to Other Sites

The Site links to websites and services we do not control, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Google Maps. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle your information, and we encourage you to review them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
